TRANSLATION HOW TO TRANSLATE=Victorious Vinnie Never Allows Elves. I. Make sure you know all of the vocabulary in the sentence. II. Find the verb (N.B. It is USUALLY the last word in the sentence) . It will end in either –o, -s, -t, -mus, -tis, -nt. III. Find the nominative/subject if the verb is 3rd person singular or plural. Otherwise, the subject is already embedded in the verb! e.g. videoI see; videtisyou all see IV. Find the direct object. If it is singular, it will end in a vowel and then a –m (am, um, um, em, um, em) AND if it is plural it will end in a vowel and them perhaps a –s (as, os, es, us, es). V. Translate everything else! If you have a verb of giving, showing or telling, look for a dative. If you have a linking verb, look for a predicate nominative. Make sure you translate every word! TRANSLATE: 1. Avia filiam amat. 2. Deus (God) filios amat. 3. Pater quinque filias videt.
