Introducton. The Thirty Years War was fought from 1618 until 1648  Introducton. The Thirty Years War was fought from 1618 until 1648. Though it was primarily centered in Germany, several other countries became involved in the conflict, including France, Spain, and Sweden. In fact, almost all of the powerful countries in Europe were involved in the war. It began as a fight about religion the Protestants and Catholics were the two groups that disagreed. As the war continued, the Habsburg dynasty and other organizations used the war to try and get more power.

3 Actions 1. An initial rebellion by hippy Protestants, who threw Imperial representatives out of the window of Prague. 2. First Denmark intervened unsuccessfully and then Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden achieved a string of military victories for the Protestant side, before he was killed in battle in 1632. 3. France, a Catholic power, financed the Swedish invasion and later joined the war directly; some Protestant rulers initially fought on the Emperor’s side.

What were the Canadians reactions to the 30 years war The rulers of the nations neighboring the Holy Roman Empire also contributed to the outbreak of the Thirty Years' War: ... French-Canadians was nearly surrounded by territory controlled by the two Habsburg states – Spain and the Holy Roman Empire, and feeling threatened, was eager to exert its power against the weaker German states.

Why is it important for to know about this Because it’s good to KNOW/LEARN ABOUT HISTORY BECAUSE PEOPLE LEARN FROM THE PAST TO TRY TO AVOID MAKING THE SAME MISTAKES.

Why is it important to Canadian history  French-Canadians where nearly surrounded by territory controlled by the two Habsburg states – Spain and the Holy Roman Empire, and feeling threatened, was eager to exert its power against the weaker German states.

Why is it important to society The Thirty Years' War, from 1618-1648, represented a major turning point in European history due to the consequences of the war which include the signing of the Treaty of Westphalia, to the destruction of Germany, and France- Canadians becoming the dominant power in Europe.
