B.E.S.T. Google Classroom Trouble-Shooting A resource to assist with the completion of B.E.S.T. New Teacher Induction requirements and action steps.

Step 1: Joining the B.E.S.T. Google Classroom Please accept the B.E.S.T. Google Classroom invitation that was emailed to you by clicking Join. Example 1

Step 1: Joining the B.E.S.T. Google Classroom Accept the B.E.S.T. Google Classroom invitation by logging into https://classroom.google.com and clicking Accept. Example 2

Step 2: Adding B.E.S.T. Participants to the Google Classroom Click on the People link to find your B.E.S.T. Google Classroom Student Code Example

Step 3: Adding B.E.S.T. Participants to the Google Classroom Please invite the your B.E.S.T. Participants to join your school site’s B.E.S.T. Google Classroom. Click on the Invite Students icon/picture, type in the B.E.S.T. Participants’ email addresses, and click Invite. Advise the participants to accept the invitation either through their email or by logging onto the Google Classroom site. Example 1

Step 3: Adding B.E.S.T. Participants to the Google Classroom Please invite the your B.E.S.T. Participants to join your school site’s B.E.S.T. Google Classroom. Provide the B.E.S.T. participants with your school site’s B.E.S.T. class code. Advise the participants to log on to https://classroom.google.com, click on the Create or Join a Class icon/picture, and type in the provided code. Example 2

Step 4: Uploading B.E.S.T. Induction Leader Documentation B.E.S.T. Induction Leaders are responsible for uploading the following to Google Classroom: The Beginning of the Year Orientation Meeting Agenda and Sign in sheet The B.E.S.T. Agreement Monthly meeting agendas and sign-in sheets B.E.S.T. Contact Logs Induction Leader module assignments Please refer to the B.E.S.T. Calendar of Events for submission dates: http://bestteacherprogram.weebly.com/calendar-of-events.html Induction Leader documents can be found on the B.E.S.T. website: http://bestteacherprogram.weebly.com/induction-leader-documents.html

Step 4: Uploading B.E.S.T. Induction Leader Documentation Completed documentation can be uploaded directly into your school site’s Google Classroom folder. Click on your Class Drive folder link which will direct you to the Google Drive screen. Right Click and select Upload files to transfer your completed B.E.S.T. documentation to the Google Classroom folder.

Step 5: Creating Assignments for B.E.S.T. Participants To enable B.E.S.T. Participants to complete and upload the required documentation, B.E.S.T. Induction leaders will first create the assignment in Google Classroom. Click on the add icon at the bottom of the screen, click on Create Assignment. Provide a title for the Assignment, e.g. Professional Development Action Plan, and click the Assign button.

Step 6: B.E.S.T. Participant Documentation B.E.S.T. Induction Participants are responsible for uploading the following to Google Classroom: The B.E.S.T. Needs Assessment (Year 1 teachers only) The Professional Development Action Plan The Professional Development Action Plan Reflection The B.E.S.T. Feedback to Induction Leader form Please refer to the B.E.S.T. Calendar of Events for submission dates: http://bestteacherprogram.weebly.com/calendar-of-events.html Induction Participant documents can be found on the B.E.S.T. website: http://bestteacherprogram.weebly.com/best-participant-completion-guide.html

Step 6: B.E.S.T. Participant Documentation To complete the assignment that was provided by the B.E.S.T. Induction Leader, participants will click on the assignment, click on the Add button, and Upload the appropriate file.

Additional Resources B.E.S.T. Induction Leaders can also use the B.E.S.T Google Classroom to post reminders, additional materials/resources, post comments, communicate with participants and more.
