DPS-7/Espanola E-911 System Upgrade Presentation to the Project Certification Committee

Project History New Mexico State Police District Seven (DPS-7) submitted a request to the DFA/LGD to approve an upgrade to their current 911 call-taking equipment. The 911 equipment that DPS-7 currently has was installed in 2008, and they have had no hardware updates since that time. Due to the limited availability of refurbished parts, maintenance options for this PSAP is limited. On February 19, 2013, the State Board of Finance (BOF) approved the DPS-7/Espanola PSAP funding request for equipment upgrades in the amount of $149,952.91.

Budget Status The amount approved by the BOF includes funding for equipment and software upgrades for the DPS-7/Espanola PSAP. The amount was based on the quote received from the preferred vender. IV&V was not budgeted for this project. We will put together a budget for IV&V and then request approval from the BOF.

Risk & Issues System failure prior to project completion We will alert the back-up PSAP that there may be a need to divert 911 calls. Site readiness We require the PSAP to certify that the site is ready prior to giving authorization to move forward.
