1 DFA- LGD E911 Portfolio Status and Certification Request May 24, 2017
Presentation to the Project Certification Committee Rick Lopez, Director

2 Portfolio History The New Mexico Enhanced 911 Act was signed into law in 1989, and amended in 1990, 1992, 1993, 2001 and The Act provides a mechanism for municipalities, counties and Native American Tribes and Pueblos to purchase E-911 equipment, to provide training, and to pay for network and database costs necessary to operate E-911 systems in their jurisdictions. The Local Government Division (LGD) E-911 staff and Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), along with the Department of Information Technology (DoIT), set criteria for E-911 equipment, network, and related services through a competitive bid process. State Board of Finance (BOF) approval is required for E-911 PSAP funding. LGD will present portfolio progress and current status to the PCC at least once a year, certifying new projects, closing complete projects, and other actions as needed. DoIT validates baseline planning requirements and the technology investment for each project. In addition, DoIT will monitor the projects though implementation. All projects are funded from the Enhanced 911 Fund.
