Biology Health Science I Mrs. Charise Nolan Room 307 Biology Health Science I Tutoring available immediately after school on Wednesdays.

About Me: I have been teaching for 15 years, all at Fontainebleau High School. In 2004, I graduated from the University of New Orleans with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education/Biology and General Science grades 6- 12. In 2012, I earned my Master's degree in Educational Leadership. Student Council Sponsor

Each student should have: Binder for all class materials Loose-leaf paper Number 2 pencils and blue or black ink pens only

Class Expectations Be respectful of self, others and property. Be prepared for class. Arrive on time and be seated when the bell rings. Only bottled water is allowed. Snacks may be consumed as long as it is not distracting to others or a lab day. Remain on task until dismissed. Follow all school rules.

Grading 1st quarter average: 100% of the points from all classwork 2nd quarter average: 80% from classwork & 20% semester exam 1st Semester Average = (1st quarter average + 2nd quarter average) / 2 3rd quarter average: 100% of the points from all classwork 4th quarter average: 80% from classwork & 20% Biology LEAP 2025 State Test 2nd Semester Average = (3rd quarter average + 4th quarter average) / 2 Absences: Excuse notes for absences must be submitted to student services within two days of returning to school. No credit (points) will be received for any missed assignment or test unless the absence is excused.

Written homework, often completing an assignment started in class, occurs about twice weekly and is most often graded on accuracy. Most quizzes are unannounced. Students are expected to review class activities/notes daily. Test are given at the end of each unit of study. There will be a 2nd quarter teacher made exam. Biology LEAP 2025 Exam - Students will be required to take a state standardized end of course test in biology.
