8 Classroom Expectations
Follow all Manhasset Secondary School Rules Come to class prepared and be in your assigned seat ready to begin class when the first bell rings Cell phones should be off and away throughout class All work, homework, class work, tests, labs and projects should be a student’s own work

9 Classroom Expectations
Students are responsible for recording daily homework assignments in planner Be respectful towards one another and do not talk while others are talking Follow all safety guidelines including keeping all aisles clear of backpacks. Mature, responsible behavior is expected of all students NO food or drink in the science classrooms

10 Grades Final Grade Quarter Grades Tests & Projects 50% Quizzes 15%
Average of the four quarter grades (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4) and the Living Environment Regents Exam. Each grade will count as one fifth (20%) Quarter Grades Tests & Projects 50% Quizzes 15% Labs/Classwork 25% Homework 10%

11 Tests Unit Tests Given at the end of each unit Will have cumulative material on each exam Multiple-choice and extended response Graphing Quarterly Exams Given during designated testing days at the end of each marking period Cumulative of the marking period Multiple-choice only **all tests are designed to prepare students for the Living Environment Regents Exam***

12 NYS Regents Lab Requirement
The lab requirement is 1200 minutes of satisfactory laboratory activities. Students who do not meet the lab requirement are not permitted to take the Regents Examination and will receive an F on the exam. Missing Lab Assignments: Arrangements to make up missed lab assignment must be made within one week of the absence. Lab assignments from previous quarters may be submitted to fulfill the lab requirement but not for a grade. Students will maintain a lab folder throughout the year that will remain in the classroom.

13 Absences Work not completed due to absences must be made up. You will have one extra day to complete and hand in missed classwork and/or homework for each day of absence. Missed exams/quizzes will be taken the day you return, unless there are extenuating circumstances. Please note: It is the student’s responsibility to make up missing assignments in a timely manner

14 Extra Credit There will be no extra credit or extra assignments in this course.
