Once you’re seated Please Write a Response to the following prompt… What defines American Literature? Do you believe it is important to learn about the past? Do you prefer non-fiction or fiction works? Is there a time period that interest you and that you would enjoy reading about?

Course Requirements A positive attitude and willingness to learn. All work in on time. Ability to navigate the CSHS website and Google classroom in order to complete assignments. and participate in class discussion. Bring all materials to class each day.

Grading policy Homework-5% In class assignments-45% Formal assessments-35% Midterms/Finals

Absent Work/Make up Assessments/ Late work If absent, you will have two days for each day missed. Absent work board Projects/essays are due on the due date regardless of absence. Therefore, they are due the first day back from an absence. You have to schedule a time with me in order to make up missing assessments. LATE WORK IS NOT ACCEPTED IN THIS COURSE!

Classroom Expectations Be in your seat when the bell signals for class to begin. Bring all necessary supplies and reading material to class EVERYDAY! NO food or drinks, with the exception of water bottles. NO GUM! Stay on task in class. Do not become a distraction, this is a barrier to others learning. Electronic devices are permitted ONLY for teacher directed learning activities. Phones should be in backpacks and silenced. TAKE CRE OF YOURSELF. TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER. TAKE CARE OF THIS PLACE.

Classroom Procedures: Entering and leaving Class I will greet you as you enter the room. Check if there are handouts to pick up, look at agenda. Turn in any HW that is due Go to assigned seat Begin Bell work in notebook (posted on SMART board. I will excuse you from your seats when class is about to end. Gather all of your belongings. Hand me exit ticket at door or put in turn in bins. Check agenda board one last time for due dates.
