Preview of Kahoot! Being Played

What is Kahoot? Kahoot! is a website where online multiple choice questions can be created and played by anyone from anywhere. Teachers can create an account and browse from a wide variety of pre-made quizzes from other teachers (or anybody), or create their own. Students can play on almost any device – laptop computer, personal computer, iPad, cell phone, other tablet devices, etc. Students sign in to their account and enter the specific PIN number linked to the quiz being played, and then they will be automatically connected to the quiz in real time. Answers and feedback are given immediately to make for a competitive, dynamic environment. For more information, please visit https://kahoot.com/what-is-kahoot/

How I Currently Use Kahoot! I use Kahoot! mainly for formative assessment purposes and for summative assessment review. You can create all sorts of different question types, lengths, and scoring. Students can play individually or on teams.

How I Currently Use Kahoot! Students will enter the PIN number on their device, pick a screen name, and then they are ready to play. A typical screen that players see is on the right. This is a rather boring mathematics question, but all sorts of different media can be used in creating a question!

Is There a Mobile App? You can download the Kahoot! app to just about any device. Kahoot! can also be played by going to the URL https://kahoot.it/#/ More information on the mobile app can be found at https://kahoot.com/mobile-app/

Redefinition Phase of SAMR Model According to Dr. Ruben Puentedura (SAMR Model, n.d.), the redefinition phase replaces part or all of the old tasks with new tasks that allow us to accomplish new pedagogical levels that were never attainable before. Students can create their own Kahoot! games and share them with one another. Students can play each Kahoot! game without being physically present at the school. Feedback is instantaneous for each individual student participating. Retrieved from http://uofmedu620.weebly.com/module-2.html

Review Kahoot! is a technology that allows for students to learn, practice, or review information in a fun, competitive, and engaging manner. It allows for students to participate without being in the same physical location. Feedback is instantaneous. It allows teachers to have one location where numerous assessments can be saved and adapted over time.
