1 Review Ratios. 1.Open the Thinking Blocks Ratios app on your iPad. 2.Choose Start Modeling in the bottom right corner. 3.Practice that standard. Students will review ratios with iPads using the Thinking Blocks Ratios app. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): The student will review ratios. S SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement

2 Self-Check Quiz 1.Open Google Chrome on the computer and got to www.connected.mcgraw-hill.com. www.connected.mcgraw-hill.com 2.Enter your username and password. 3.Click on the book to enter. Then click the menu tab at the top left and choose Resources. 4.In the drop-down boxes, choose Chapter 1 Lesson 2. 5.Click on Check 6.Click on Self-Check Quiz. 7.The quiz will open in a new tab. Answer the 5 questions in the quiz and then click Check. 8.Email the results to your teacher. 9.Email the results to me at brandi.holloway@cpsb.org.brandi.holloway@cpsb.org Students will take the self-check quiz using the online Glencoe tools. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): The student will review ratios and email the results to the teacher. A AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement.

3 Ratio Discussions. 1.Open the Edmodo app on your iPad or phone. 2.Login using your provided username and password. 3.Choose the name of the group that you were given. 4.You will see a problem appear on the screen. 5.Answer the question provided. Silently discuss relevant information needed to solve the problem (student 1) and a problem-solving strategy (student 2) using Edmodo. Once the group is in agreement, student 3 should present the solution. During each of these steps students should have mathematical conversations. Students may question peers, add to the conversation, and critique the work of peers. 6.Group work can then be shared as others join the group or the teacher can project the groups work and have a class discussion on appropriate mathematical conversations as well as the problem solving steps. Students will collaborate in small groups to discover the best way to set up multiple ratios using the information provided. Students may question peers, add to the conversation, and critique the work of peers. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): The students will use collaboration software to discuss and create ratios. M MODIFICATION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable

4 Teaching Ratios 1.With your group choose one form of a ratio (part to part, part to whole) to teach. 2.Plan how you want to teach. (How you will explain it to other students) You must show examples. 3.Using a planning sheet, plan and gather the tools needed to complete the video to teach ratios. 4.With the iMovie app, create a MOVIE teaching your ratios. Remember to save your movie by listing hour first and group number. Example: 3hr. G4 5.Use the Send Anywhere app to transfer your iMovie to the computer. 6.Log into Blackboard, and upload your video as a File in the Discussion Board entitled Integer Video. Watch another math class’ video and follow instructions on thread to give feedback on their video. Students will use original videos to teach ratios to fellow students. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): The students will create videos that teach ratios, view peer’s videos from other classes, and give feedback. R REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable
