Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India Observations by Monitoring Institution : Punjab University, Chandigarh for the period April to September, 2012 Districts covered : Amritsar, Faridkot, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur and Tarntaran The sampled schools received cooking cost for MDM after a delay of 2-3 months. Children were happy with both quality and quantity of meals. However, it was observed that in most of the schools ingredients like oil, salt, red pepper powder or turmeric powder used is not of standardized quality. Delay of 2-3 months in payment of honorarium to cook-cum-helpers. Roster for parents and community members for day-to-day supervision of the MDM was not prepared by any of the schools.
