2 Review of Implementation of MDMS in Andhra Pradesh (Primary + Upper Primary) (1.4.2014 to 31.12.2014) Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

3 Issues  Poor rate of construction of kitchen-cum-stores  Construction of kitchen-cum-store is as low as 6% in vijainagaram district. Construction is not even started for more than 70% sanctioned kitchen-cum-stores in districts Prakasam, Nellore and West Godavari.  Mismatch in data on utilisation of cooking cost in AWP&B vis-à- vis MIS.  Negative balance of cooking cost in some districts.  Low MME utilization (25%).  Delay in payment of honorarium to cook-cum-helpers. (MI Report)  Quality of the supplied rice is not good. (MI Report)

4 Best Practices  Green Channel Scheme for release of funds.  State is providing egg/banana twice a week from its own resources.  Calendars and SOPs have been printed out and distributed to the districts for regular usage of HMs/CCHs/Implementing agencies.  Coverage of children of class IX and X under mid day meal from State resources.  Creation of monitoring cell for regular review of scheme.  Review of scheme through video conferencing.
