Which Division Should I Choose at the U13 level? It all depends on your desired division at U14 Fall If you aspire to play in the U14 Fall Premier division, you MUST self- select OPEN in the U13 Fall If you aspire to play in the U14 Fall 1 st division, your best bet is to self select OPEN in the U13 Fall. NOTE: You must do what is best for your team competitively each season. Only you know where they will be best placed.

Which Division Should I Choose at the U13 level? U13 Spring season: Top 24 OPEN teams create the ELITE Division: 12 Elite East and 12 Elite West U13 Spring season: All other teams not selected for the ELITE Division will SELF-SELECT OPEN or SECOND The remaining 8 1 st division teams come from the winners of each OPEN division and then the next best overall teams based on % pts. (all in the PR guidelines) NOTE: NO 2 nd division teams will be placed in 1 st Division for the FALL U14 Season. At the end of the U13 Spring season: TOP 6 ELITE EAST and TOP 6 ELITE WEST create the U14 Premier division The remaining 12 (6 ELITE EAST and 6 ELITE WEST) ELITE teams make up 12 of the 20 1 st division teams.

ADDING A HYBRID LEVEL THAT BOTH CHALLENGE AND CLASSIC TEAMS CAN BOTH PARTICIPATE WITHIN.

What exists now… Classic Structure R3PL or SPL Premier 1 st Division 2 nd Division NCYSA Levels of Play Structure ChallengeRecreation NC Youth Academy Available to clubs with LEVEL 3 Membership Available to clubs with LEVEL 2 and 3 Membership Available to clubs with LEVEL 1,2, or 3 Membership

Now lets compare what we have now vs. ADDING A 3 RD SELECT hybrid LEVEL… P ROPOSED F ORMAT WITH NEW 3 RD S ELECT L EVEL Classic Structure R3PL or SPL Premier 1 st Division 2 nd Division ChallengeRecreation NC Youth Academy Classic Structure R3PL or SPL Premier 1 st Division 2 nd Division 3 RD SELECT LEVEL Challenge NC Youth Academy Recreation

Adding in a 3 RD Select level that acts a hybrid between a Classic and Challenge team. Who makes up this 3 RD Select level? The 3 RD Select level serves as an option for Classic level teams that may not be strong enough for a Classic Level 2 nd Division AND For Challenge level teams that dont have a scheduling league in their area that serves their age group. It is open to all Challenge level teams regardless. Classic Structure R3PL or SPL Premier 1 st Division 2 nd Division 3 RD SELECT DIVISION Challenge

SELECT DIVISION 3 RD SELECT LEVEL Eligibility: Classic Registered Teams AND Challenge Registered Teams are eligible for this 3 RD Select hybrid level. -Teams may remain registered as a Challenge Team or a Classic Team. There is not a separate designation/classification for the teams that participate in the 3 RD Select level. -Why we did this…

3 RD SELECT LEVEL Quick Facts: -NO PROMOTION AND RELEGATION out of the 3 RD Select hybrid level. If a team does well they have the option to enter into the CLASSIC 2 nd Division as a new team just as they do in the current setup. NOTE: Teams wishing to enter into the CLASSIC 2 nd Division as mentioned above, MUST have the proper membership level. In other words, they MUST have CLASSIC (Level 3) membership to qualify for the Classic 2 nd Division just the same way they currently do. A Challenge Registered team that does well and is interested in moving into the CLASSIC 2 nd Division, MUST be registered within an association that has Classic (Level 3) membership OR they must find an association they can register with that has the appropriate Classic (Level 3) membership. THIS IS NO DIFFERENT THAN THE CURRENT SETUP FOR A CHALLENGE TEAM THAT WISHES TO MOVE INTO THE CLASSIC 2 nd DIVISION. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE GRANTED!

What is the structure within the 3 RD Select level? The make-up structurally for the Select hybrid level will mirror the current Classic 2 nd Division. Teams will apply online via and Online ITP. They will choose the 3 RD Select level of play. Challenge teams CAN PLAY IN EITHER THE 3 RD SELECT LEVEL OR A CHALLENGE SCHEDULING LEAGUE…NOT BOTH. Cost to register a team in the 3 RD Select level: $90.00 After the Online ITP deadline has passed, teams will be divided up geographically within each age group very similar to the current Classic 2 nd Division level. The goal will be to create geographical divisions while minimizing travel. Colby Morton, Asst. Director of Classic, will oversee the administration of the 3 RD Select level. Teams will be notified of their bracket and will self schedule their games as done currently within the Classic level.

Who will govern the 3 RD Select level? Due to the fact that the 3 RD Select level will consist of a hybrid of Challenge registered and Classic registered teams, any decision for the level will need a vote at both the Challenge and Classic councils. This is the same as any current rule addition or change that crosses over levels of play John Rhyne, Classic VP, and John Alis, Challenge VP, will rule on any necessary decisions concerning the 3 RD Select level. Colby Morton will be your admin contact at NCYSA and will oversee the daily operations of the 3 RD Select level.

Fees: Referee Fees paid at each game will be concurrent with the CLASSIC level referee fees.
