or A PROGRESSIVE PLAYER PROGRAM designed to provide a more challenging level of soccer for AYSO players who have the interest, skills and abilities. Retains the spirit and philosophies of AYSO EXTRATM does not overshadow or harm the standard primary program – Everyone Plays Provides more competitive play the AYSO way EXTRATM is a program that offers organized soccer for players who want to play at a more competitive level Full Year Program, October 2017 – July 2018

4 EXTRATM 498 Region 498 will run EXTRATM Concurrent program
Must play on a Fall primary season or AYSO Indoor Season Run as year long program – October July 2018 Selection for team by open Try Outs (Minimum of 3) Self funding Enhanced coach requirements- Both Head and Assistant Coach requirements 10U: 12U Coach 12U: Intermediate Coach 14U: Advanced Coach 16U: Advanced Coach 19U: Advanced Coach For 10U and up age divisions ONLY Single age divisions, if appropriate EXTRATM is optional, some age divisions may not have a team Depends on availability of coaches 8U players cannot play up – No exception Required by 1 May 2018

6 Concept Fall Season: Concurrent with Primary teams (Starts 1 October)
Enter 1 non-AYSO tournament (Target November/December) Train once per week (does not interfere with Core program, including Section and State Tournament) Winter Season: Recommend players play AYSO Indoor program Continue training 1-2 times per week Spring Season: Side-by-Side with Primary teams Enter 3 non-AYSO tournaments Engage in local Friendly games Train 2-3 times per week Post Season: (teams can enter additional tournaments in July if desired) Train 2-5 times per week Friendly games Enter AYSO Section 5 Games (1st weekend in Jun 2018, Charlotte, NC)

7 Players Player eligibility
Meet the AYSO age requirements for Division playing in 8U player CANNOT play up to be on an EXTRATM team Does not have to be registered for Fall to Try Out But MUST register and participate in Indoor. Playing up is by exception – Committee Approval required Coach not parent will request to EXTRA Committee for approval. NOTE: Players need to register to tryout for EXTRA at AYSO498.org

8 Coaches Coach eligibility Standard coach requirements (MY2017 registered, Concussion Awareness, Safe Haven 2012) Active in Region’s primary program (Coach, referee, management role) Be in good standing with the Region Recommended by the Region 498 EXTRA Committee and Be approved by the Regional Commissioner Coach training certifications for EXTRATM 10U Division: U-12 Coach 12U Division : Intermediate Coach 14U Division : Advanced Coach 16U Division : Advanced Coach 19U Division : Advanced Coach To apply to coach EXTRATM Need applications to coach by 24 September Coaches please volunteer to coach EXTRA on BS so Board can evaluate/approve Required by 1 May 2018

9 Coaches Coach responsibilities: Arrange and run at least 3 open Try Outs; published to entire division Evaluate and select players; open feedback Players should be entered into Blue Sombrero Conduct training sessions Arrange for Player and Coach ID cards; photo required (after team selection) See EXTRA Coordinator for assistance Prepare Team Rosters for tournaments; print out from BS Obtain approval to enter tournaments; Coaches will register teams for tournaments, notify Coordinator to make/facilitate payment. Arrange friendly games, as necessary; approval required If you need Referees; Ref Admin can help, use Scheduler for fields. Normally entered in Sportac.us

10 Try Outs Coach(es) for age division approved
Coach(es) arrange Try Out dates One set of Try Outs for each Division EXTRA Committee may appoint Lead Coach for Try Outs Request fields from EXTRA Coordinator Player eligibility to Try out Fall or Indoor 2017 Registration Player Form (Indoor registration is Open 1 October) Format of Try Out is coach’s decision Recommend Small Sided Games Basic skills assessments

11 Team Forming Notify players not selected within 1 week from last division Try Out Teams should have maximum number of players allowed by AYSO Rules and Regulations for the Age Division If more than one team in an age division, teams will form an A & B Team over balancing the two teams. If we have enough players in a division it would be preferred to, for example set up a 11U & 12U team. Most tournaments including Section have more than one level per division. (i.e Section 5, EXTRA & Core) Non AYSO tournaments usually have a Silver or Developmental and Gold Competitive levels divisions. Age Divisions may opt for single age Divisions, but must notify EXTRA Director (i.e 11U, 13U, 15U etc.)

12 Uniforms EXTRA will use existing Uniform
Add the EXTRATM logo to uniform on left sleeve No additional uniform cost 10U & 12U will have to purchase red and blue socks. (We will provide cost later. Under $15)

13 Fees EXTRATM fees in addition to other AYSO fees
Full year - $280 (+ socks for 10 & 12U) Includes all tournament/league fees +uniform + admin Non-AYSO Tournaments (4) AYSO Section 5 Tournament Charlotte, North Carolina (travel not included) Travel on a Thursday, return Sunday, 3 nights. AYSO will coordinate Blocks of rooms for tournament Uniform: TBD additional cost 10 & 12U (socks only, under $15) Small Admin fees Full year fees will be due prior to team participation Region 498 refund policy applies to EXTRA Program
