You have a more introverted, shy, or nervous personality. You haven't organized your thoughts or are unprepared. The way you look at someone can communicate many things, including _____, _____, _____, or _____. NİŞANTAŞI ÜNİVERSİTESİ ©

NİŞANTAŞI ÜNİVERSİTESİ © FACIAL EXPRESSIONS Facial expressions include eyebrow signs, lip movements and whole expressions from your face and can communicate your feelings widely. The ways our faces express emotions are varied, but the interpretations are mostly universal. NİŞANTAŞI ÜNİVERSİTESİ ©

NİŞANTAŞI ÜNİVERSİTESİ © SPACE The amount of space between two people is also a form of non-verbal communication. Have you ever felt uncomfortable during a conversation because the other person was standing too close and invading your space? We all have a need for physical space, although that need differs depending on the _____, the _____, and the _____ of the relationship. You can use physical space to communicate many different nonverbal messages, including signals of intimacy and affection, aggression or control. NİŞANTAŞI ÜNİVERSİTESİ ©

Is their body relaxed or stiff and immobile? Are shoulders tense and raised, or relaxed? Is there any physical contact? Is it appropriate to the situation? Does it make you feel uncomfortable? Does the person seem flat, cool, and disinterested? Is there an easy flow of information back and forth? Do nonverbal responses come too quickly or too slowly? Do you hear sounds that indicate caring or concern? NİŞANTAŞI ÜNİVERSİTESİ ©

Facts about Nonverbal Communıcatıon The only nonverbal behaviours that are universal throughout the world are facial expressions — the expressions of anger, happiness, sadness, disgust, surprise and fear are basic to all humans. There is no dictionary for nonverbal communication. The meaning of a particular nonverbal cue, such as a certain gesture or eye movement, can depend on the context, the individual, and the relationship between the “sender” and the recipient. Entering someone’s personal space causes arousal, which can lead to a positive or negative reaction. The ability to read non-verbal emotions can be improved.  NİŞANTAŞI ÜNİVERSİTESİ ©

Facts about Nonverbal Communıcatıon What you communicate through your body language and nonverbal signals affects how others see you, how much they like and respect you, and whether or not they trust you. Unfortunately, many people send confusing or negative nonverbal signals without even knowing it. When this happens, both connection and trust are damaged. NİŞANTAŞI ÜNİVERSİTESİ ©

NİŞANTAŞI ÜNİVERSİTESİ © FUN FACT There are 60 muscles in the face . Smiling takes 17 muscles in the face, while frowning takes 43! So SMILE  It is the shortest distance between two people. NİŞANTAŞI ÜNİVERSİTESİ ©
