Angel Island This was the equivalent of Ellis Island on the West coast. This is where Asians were processed.

Gentleman’s Agreement 1907 Japanese government complained that Japanese students were segregated in San Francisco schools. Agreement worked out that schools would be desegregated if Japanese did not allow as many emigrants out of Japan
