Use the Right Keywords Keywords are the search terms used by people to find what they want in a search engine, social network, or applicant tracking system. Create a list of your competitors on LinkedIn based on their titles. Perform thorough research on those keywords via Indeed Trends, Google Trends or Yahoo Trends. Use the same common keywords on your profile

Don’t Advertise Your Transition

Addressing Your Current Job Use a Job Title That Matches Your Goal. RN Nurse pursuing hospital work

Addressing Your Current Job Use a Job Title That Matches Your Goal. RN Nurse pursuing hospital work Resist Using Non-Work as a Placeholder. Don’t add volunteer, nonprofit, etc. as a current job. Employers think you’re working for this organization.

Addressing Your Current Job Use a Job Title That Matches Your Goal. RN Nurse pursuing hospital work Resist Using Non-Work as a Placeholder. Don’t add volunteer, nonprofit, etc. as a current job. Employers think you’re working for this organization. Note Your Goals, Not Your Unemployment. Point out your value to employers by adding skills and job title keywords to help define the type of role you’re pursuing. Example: I offer a broad operations background, including Lean Six Sigma, team management, production supervision, and plant engineering skills
