Stay Ahead of the Game Keep up with your content Find creative ways to capture content Tell your story Engage with your Followers Keep up with posting Use a social media management tool for scheduling Data is your friend Kristan: Stay Ahead of the Game Keep up with your content Find creative ways to capture content. Use your internal resources. Work with Kitchen Managers, Chefs, PTA (Parent-Teacher Association), your District, your community or anyone that is going out to a school that can get photos for you. Tell your story Parents/students/your community doesn’t know how much work goes into our programs. This is your chance to get the word out there. Let them know the good things you’re doing for our schools. The nutritious meals you’re putting on the menu. The hours you spend grown cucumbers, cutting watermelon, new pilots like pre-ordering, on going promotions, new menu items, etc. Get your followers interested. Engage with your Followers Interact with your users make a negative situation turn into a positive outcome. Make sure you are tagging the schools or anyone involved to get more engagement Keep up with posting Use a social media management tool for scheduling posts Save yourself time to schedule posts you will post later Find an app/website that will publish your posts for you (go over image) Data is your friend Use the data from analytics to help you know when to post and what to post

Social Media Analytics Facebook Instagram Twitter Pinterest Kristan: Analytics for Facebook, Instagram & Twitter It’s great to have tons of followers but you want the right customers engaging with you so you can use your social media to your advantage, get feedback, and improve your program. You can advertise for free to inform students about future menu items, pilots, promotions, etc. How to read the data What’s provided What time your followers are online/looking at posts What they like the most Engagement Gender How many page views Reach What other pages are like our that you might want to connect with or benchmark off of Facebook – Facebook Page then 4th tab over Instagram – Instagram Page then insights in the top right corner Twitter – Twitter Page then look to your right Pinterest – Pinterest Page then left top corner analytics then click overview

Understanding the Analytics What’s the data telling us? Customer trends What to Post? When to Post? Kristan: Understating the Analytics All this data tells you useful information when you’re planning your content for your pages What does that mean Insight to customer trends of using social media Track the posts – We use a scorecard in our District to keep track. This helps us determine which content to post & when to post. When to post – most optimal time to post What they want to see – personalized messaging Gen Z Get most of their information from the internet More open to tagging you in something rather than going to a kitchen manager Can solve customer service issues right then and there

What to do with the Analytics? Boost/Promote a Post Targeting to Increase Participation Connecting with the Right People Engage with your Customers Kristan: What to do with the Analytics? Do you want to boost or promote a post based on engagement? You can do this buy paying a few dollars. You can target specific users, a particular area you’re trying to increase participation You can figure out your demographics to see the customers you’re reaching Connect with other pages Partner with schools in your district, share their content & engage with them. Their followers should be attending that school so those are the customers you want to interact with. Share/Retweet/Like/Engage with their content. Tag the schools/organizations – make sure you’re tagging the right school as school names can be the same across the US Create events on FB for promotions/events Example of HR hiring event on FB Benchmark off other pages to see how you’re doing Get new ideas from other districts & restaurants - Trends
