Native American culture was changed forever when it collided with Europeans Native Americans lived their normal everyday life before the arrival of the Europeans. They had fewer technological advantages, therefore hunted animals using knives and spears. There were no unusual diseases that they had to be concerned about because they were immune to the diseases that already existed on their land. Consequently, they had a steady population rate. However, the settlement of the Europeans in the New World caused changes in Native American culture forever. New diseases, such as smallpox, new technology, such as firearms and new crops, such as rice from Europe entered Native American culture.
