Track record of success

North – South Divide? Analysis of UCAS data reveals students in part of the North are far outnumbered on many degree courses – including prestigious subjects such as medicine and maths. Figures show more than one in five (21 per cent) of all students taking up degree places last autumn were from the capital, while just 4 per cent were from the North East of England – a gap of 17 percentage points. Figures show that across all subjects, 16,420 students from the North East were accepted on to courses last year, compared to 81,385 from the capital.

Worth going to uni? DfE Annual Graduate Survey 2017 Graduates had higher employment rates (87.5%) than non-graduates (71.1%) The rate of high skilled employment was 65.5% for graduates compared to 22.2% for non-graduates In 2017 the average, working age graduate earned £10,000 more than the average non-graduate

The student cannot edit anything at this stage. Personal Tutor The personal tutor will contact all of the subject teachers and get a written report on their progress including a predicted grade. The personal tutor will then write a Teacher Reference for the student and attach it to the form along with the predicted grades. If any changes are needed to the application, the form is returned to the student.

Support from SSFC Checking Service Once the personal tutor is happy with the application form, it is sent for checking with the UCAS support staff within college. If any mistakes are spotted or corrections / additions needed, the form is returned to the student or personal tutor. If everything is ok, it is passed to the UCAS lead co-ordinator within college (Martin Youngman) for a final check. The form is then sent to UCAS.
