Cassidy Elementary – Renovation Rendering of Final Façade July 2009

Cassidy Elementary – Renovation Work Completed in Last 30 Days: Asphalt removal at Stage Addition complete. Primary electric installed and secondary conduits installed to transformer pad location. Selective interior demolition continuing with removal of walls, ceilings and doors in Phase 1. Mechanical demolition on-going. New Admin. Addition and Music Rm. Addition first floor slab in place. Bearing CMU walls up to first floor height at New Admin. Addition. CMU begun on Music Rm. Addition. Steel columns and beams begun for new Media Center at New Admin. Addition. Door frames installed in new CMU walls at New Admin. Addition. Under-slab plumbing and electrical rough-ins complete in New Admin. and Music Rm. Additions with wall rough-ins continuing with new CMU wall construction. New HVAC delivered to site. July 2009

Cassidy Elementary – Renovation Current Work Effort (July): Storm sewer begun along front of building with new underground retention structures starting. Gas main line to begin between Morton M.S. and Cassidy Elem. with completion prior to start of school. Sanitary sewer work begun with completion prior to start of school. Fire Protection/Water Main work started with completion prior to start of school. Morton M.S. parking lot extension to start with completion prior to start of school. Selective demolition of interior areas to continue as needed for Phase 1 work. Concrete foundation and slab for Stage Addition to start with CMU walls following. Coordination Meeting to be held on site 1½ week prior to start of school with contractors, local fire department officials and FCPS staff to review life safety and emergency egress compliance prior to staff/student occupancy. July 2009

Russell Cave Elementary – Renovation Work Completed in Last 30 Days: Exterior concrete block walls are being installed. Interior of Kitchen/Cafeteria has been demolished and renovation has begun. Renovation of (4) classrooms on the south side has begun. Concrete slab at the new addition has been poured. Masonry restoration on the exterior of the original building in process. Existing elevator has been upgraded. Current Work Effort (July): Roof trusses at the new additional will be set. Kitchen/Cafeteria renovation will be completed. Interior work on the new addition and the (4) classrooms on the south side will continue. They are scheduled to be completed in October. Complete new electrical and mechanical systems in Kitchen/Cafeteria. July 2009
