CREATING ASSIGNMENTS AND CATEGORIES Categories allow you to group your assignments. Each assignment must be tied to a category.

CREATING ASSIGNMENTS & CATEGORIES The creating Assignments and Categories function is available from any page in the PTP gradebook by clicking on the +Create button in the upper right hand part of the screen. Use the resulting pop-up to specify assignment details and functionality. Categories and Assignments can be imported from your old gradebook so you don’t have to start from scratch. You’ll find more in-depth information on this in subsequent modules.

Access and Enter scores by: Assignment Student ENTERING SCORES Access and Enter scores by: Assignment Student After your categories and assignments have been created, you are ready to enter some scores. As you’ll see, there are a couple different ways to access and enter information on student progress.

Entering Scores One way to enter scores is to access the scoresheet by using the grading charm Select a blank cell to activate the score inspector, and enter scores and comments, or add assignment flags Click on the assignment name at the top of the scoresheet to access standards scores. Scores can also be accessed through the Assignment List – it is also accessible through the grading charm From the assignments page, select a single assignment to enter scores Look familiar? Scores can also be accessed through the Students charm This is a good screen when you want to view an individual student’s “body of evidence”

SCORE INSPECTOR Inspector Using the Score Inspector to provide more details about a student’s performance with codes …is always active when entering scores Let’s take a closer look at the new score inspector…

Use comment button to add comments manually or from the comment bank. Special Codes Use the codes button to access special score code. Fill Scores Use vertical and horizontal button to fill empty score boxes. SCORE INSPECTOR Score entry options will change dynamically by assignment and score type You can enter scores in the score field, or use the score inspector’s “buttons” with a mouse or touch screen device Use the buttons at the upper right to toggle between score and comment entry Use the arrows to navigate between students and assignments Horizontal and vertical fill will fill only empty cells with the currently active score. Select a score attribute to add it to a score Use the Codes button to access special score codes.
