3 Step 1 – Creating Gradebooks Log onto ABI – just like attendance- http://tms2k/abi/Login.asp http://tms2k/abi/Login.asp Click the link to get started Choose 1 section only!!! Choose 1 section only!!! Click “Next” Click “Next” Make sure you put in the correct information for the “new Gradebook” screens. The start and end date for the current semester as well as term (S1, S2) Do this for all of your classes! Go to “Edit Gradebooks” tab and click “Add New” Go to “Edit Gradebooks” tab and click “Add New”

5 ABI will tell you to deal with students that are added/dropped!

6 When you get new students midyear You can select which assignments they are expected to do. Under Gradebook Maintenance click on “Manage Students” Under Gradebook Maintenance click on “Manage Students” By the new student, under “Low assignment” and “high assignment” - choose the number of the starting and ending assignments that they are accountable for. 7 Step 3 - Linking Gradebooks This is the same as a permanent “Gradebook to Gradebook Copy” feature. Any assignment that is added, grade scales, etc. are kept the same between linked gradebooks Click on “Link Gradebooks” Grouping is by number 0 is ungrouped 0 is ungrouped All 1’s are grouped together All 1’s are grouped together All 2’s are grouped together, etc All 2’s are grouped together, etc Make all of one class linked? – all science is 1, all math is 2, etc. Make all of one class linked? – all science is 1, all math is 2, etc.

8 Step 4 Assigning % Values to Grades Click on “Final Marks” If there is a default, you can use it – none yet! Enter values for each grade: High and low Leave it blank if you don’t use it!

9 A+ 97-100 A 93-96 A- 90-92 B+ 87-89 B 83-86 B- 80-82 C+ 77-79 C 73-76 C- 70-72 D+ 67-69 D 63-66 D- 60-62 F 0-59 (not F+!!!) It will call a 62.5 a D-, the low score is the threshold

10 Step 5 - Assignment categories Click on “Edit Assignment Types” If you use % weighting, click the little box and “apply changes” Choose a number and what category goes here. Ex. Homework is 40% Click “apply changes” Make sure all of your values add up to 100% - it will tell you.

11 Step 6 – Adding assignments Click “Edit Assignments” Click the “Add New” icon Under “type” choose the category that you want for this assignment Fill in a description, max score, date assigned and due. Click “Add” If you click “Grading Completed”, it will add the score to the student’s average right away. If not, you can make it show up later.

12 Grading Info If you enter NA or ** as a score, it will be marked as excused and will not affect their grade Comment codes? Hand changing grades?

15 Options Under “General” you can change some viewing options in your printouts –print by ID number, phone number, etc… You can also enter your email address so parents can contact you more easily

17 Options – Grading Rules Lets you decide if you want to drop a low score in one of your categories.

18 TA Mode Of course its not legal for students to enter grades, but here is a feature that you could choose to use. If you turn on TA mode, you can give a TA access to only the scores you choose. (scores #5-9 or whatever). They can’t look at confidential info. The only way to access the rest of your information is to log out and log back in.

20 Email reports Once Aeries has parent emails on file, we will be able to send the same reports via email.

23 Emailing Scores Home Just create a report under “Assignments by Student” When you have it looking the way you like, press the “Print Screen” button on your keyboard. Open a new email, right click on the screen and select “paste” – resize the image with the litle squares in the corners. Address the email, add any comments you want and shoot it off to the parent!
