Title I: Title I is a federal program that provides funds to schools and districts serving high numbers of economically disadvantaged children.

Title I School-wide Program Stonewall Jackson’s Title I School-wide Program

School-wide means: THE SCHOOL USES TITLE I FUNDS TO UPGRADE THE ENTIRE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM OF THE SCHOOL. TITLE I FUNDS ARE USED TO SERVE ALL CHILDREN IN ORDER TO RAISE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT. TITLE I FUNDS WILL BE USED TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE TO ALL STUDENTS WHO EXPERIENCE DIFFICULTIES IN MEETING THE STATE’S PERFORMANCE TARGETS.

Curriculum and Instructional Strategies: Kcs provided curriculum-College and Career readiness Additional programs such as: math 180 and read 180 Pull out group settings Co-teaching settings Smaller class sizes for math/english labs

READING PROGRAMS READ 180: ALL GRADE LEVELS Purpose- The purpose of read 180 is to accelerate students path toward reading mastery. Description- Read 180 is a reading intervention program designed for middle school students. Class sizes are small and allow for individualized attention. The program uses multiple instructional practices/blending learning such as whole group instruction, software participation, and individual reading instruction. ACHIEVE 3000: ASSIGNED LICENSES Purpose- The purpose of Achieve 3000 is to increase reading comprehension and lexile. Description- Is a reading program that uses a blending learning approach to meet the needs of each learner. This includes using nonfiction articles that reaches students at their precise lexile. The rigor of the articles increases as progress is indicated. “scaffolding approach” TITLE I ENGLISH: 7TH GRADE 6th Grade Purpose- To reach the needs of students who are failing or endanger of failing. Description- Our program uses small group instruction to reinforce the skills that students are learning in their core classes. Our teachers develop create lessons that address the needs of all learners and abilities. Mind Play: All GRADE LEVELS Purpose- To improve reading lexile of struggling readers Description- Uses a “reading coach” to scaffold learning

MATH PROGRAMS MATH 180: TITLE I Math: IMAGINE MATH: Purpose- It Rebuilds the key progressions that struggling math students need for success with algebra and higher-level math as defined by the common core state standards. Description- The program builds student’s confidence and competence in mathematics, while providing teachers with comprehensive support to ensure success. TITLE I Math: Purpose- To reach the needs of students who are failing or endanger of failing. Description- Our program uses small group instruction to reinforce the skills that students are learning in their core classes. Our teachers develop creative lessons that address the needs of all learners and abilities. IMAGINE MATH: Purpose- To improve math skills Description- Is a program that uses level set to get base data on students math ability. It then uses a scaffolding approach to improve math skills

2016-2017: THE MAJORITY OF STUDENT GROUPS MET ANNUAL GROWTH ACADEMIC GOALS IN MATHEMATICS AND ENGLISH/LANGUAGE ARTS. HOWEVER, THE SCHOOL DID NOT REACH ITS GOALS IN ATTENDANCE.
