Summer Reading College-preparatory: Test during first week of school on Tuesdays With Morrie! Honors: Test during first week of school on Night, Anne Frank, Fahrenheit 451, or Tom Sawyer (one book)! Both: Book groups will meet next week to discuss faculty favorites books and to turn in written journal entries.

Grading Policy 15 % homework 10 % classwork (5 % honors) including attendance, effort, and participation 25 % tests 15 % quizzes (20 % honors) 20 % writing and projects 15 % final exam (end of each quarter)

Final Advice Read the books!  At least try the homework!  Have confidence in yourself!  Participate and ask questions!  Study!  See me before/after school for help!  Know that you won’t be a sophomore next year if you do not pass this class now or in summer school! 
