6 Daily Schedule Come in quietly & begin your “Bell Ringer” work
We will review information from last class “Mini-Test” on reading homework Take notes on and discuss reading Activity based on book Homework

7 Bell Ringers Bell Ringers will last 5-15 minutes depending on the assignment We will discuss/correct Bell Ringers when time is up (5-10 minutes)

8 Types of Bell Ringers Monday: M.U.G. (Mechanics, Usage, & Grammar)
Tuesday: Literary Term Wednesday: What Would You Do? Thursday: Vocabulary/Quotation Friday: Silent Reading You will need to bring your own book to read

9 Required Supplies Ram Tracks Planner brought to school each day.
Binder with loose-leaf college ruled paper Pens, pencils, and highlighters are needed each class session. Spiral Notebooks if taken home. Silent reading book of your choice on Fridays when we have class.

10 Grading You will be graded on 4 things!
Assignments: In-class activities and assignments (Bell Ringers, notes, etc.) Assessments: Tests, quizzes, projects Homework: Vocabulary, grammar, worksheets, reading response journals, etc. Final Exam each semester

11 Homework Policy Assignments are DUE on the DUE DATE. Personal responsibility is strongly encouraged. Up to 1 week after the due date to turn in your work for full credit If absent, you are given the same number of days to complete the assignment as the number of days absent. Assignments turned in 2 weeks from the due date will lose 50% on the assignment. Assignments turned in after three weeks will receive a zero on the assignment. I will allow you to fix your vocabulary quizzes or tests if your scores are below 75%. You have 1 week to complete your corrections or I keep your current score.

12 Classroom Guidelines Be respectful. Respect should be shown by everyone in the classroom. Students must respect the teacher, their peers, as well as themselves. Be in class on time. Be prepared. No Cell Phones are to be used during class unless otherwise specified by Mrs. Millett for a class activity. Cell phones should not be seen or heard during class. No Foul Language is allowed. Curse words and inappropriate slang will be grounds for discipline. No food, drinks (except bottled water), candy, or gum are prohibited in class.

13 Homework Please return the last page of the syllabus SIGNED, by your parent/guardian, to me by Tuesday, August 30th!
