Importance of Personal Hygiene Presented By: Misha Mils

Why this, why that? keeping your face and hands clean mentally, emotionally, or socially prevent skin cancer, body odor, bacterial infections get bacterial infections from poor personal hygiene

How does keeping your face and hands clean affect your overall health? Since your skin plays such an important role in protecting your body, you should keep it as healthy as you can. This will help you keep from getting sick or having damage to your bones, muscles, and internal organs. Skin is actually your body’s largest organ by size. Your skin helps keep your body temperature even  With little more than soap, water, and about thirty seconds of scrubbing, you can reduce the spread of germ by up to 80% .

What happens either mentally, emotionally, or socially to someone who has poor personal hygiene? Poor hygiene can be a sign of self- neglect which is the inability or unwillingness to attend to one's personal needs. there are still individuals whom find hot water, soap and towels difficult to gain access to. This lack of resources can result in individuals becoming unkempt and socially isolated.

What can a person do to help prevent skin cancer, body odor, bacterial infections? Keep Yourself Squeaky Clean - Shower at least once a day and you'll wash away sweat as well as reduce the number of bacteria on your skin. Use Antibacterial Soap - Choose an antibacterial bath soap. Washing thoroughly with an antibacterial soap bar will reduce the bacteria count, in turn reducing the odor.

Continued… Towel Off Thoroughly Towel off and make sure you dry any areas where you sweat a lot. if your skin is dry, it's harder for bacteria that cause body odor to breed on it. Apply DEODORANT !!! Once you are clean and dry, use a strong deodorant   Keep Your Wardrobe Squeaky Clean Change clothes often when you're sweating heavily. Fresh clothes help keep body odor down. Cut Out or Cut Down "Offensive" Foods or Drinks What you eat affects your body odor. Foods that tend to make you sweat more, such as hot peppers or other spicy foods, might also contribute to body odor. And the aroma of foods such as onions or garlic can be carried in the sweat, making you smell bad. Use Hand Sanitizer Use sunscreen – SPF 15 or higher

How does someone get bacterial infections from poor personal hygiene? Body Odor - One of the first and most prominent consequences of bad hygiene is body odor. Bad Breath - Bad breath, easily recognizable consequence of poor hygiene. It commonly develops from not regularly brushing and flossing your teeth. Bacteria thrive on particles of food that can stick to your teeth, As the bacteria digest this food, their byproduct results in odor. Food can also get stuck in your teeth and rot over time, producing a foul odor, according to the American Dental Association. Gender Specific - Girls and boys have unique hygiene needs that if ignored may lead to health problems.

All this for what?? Good personal hygiene works a lot more than ust providing you with a presentable appearance. Personal hygiene includes every day habits which are helpful in maintaining the body cleanliness. The most important ones include regular brushing , bathing, shampooing the hair, hand wash, applying deodorant, and wearing clean clothes. However, being ignorant about good hygiene practices may lead to certain consequences. These consequences may vitiate health issues to social and professional effects.

Hope you learn and apply some new daily routines!!!
