Shading From Light to Dark
Presentation transcript:

Year 7 Graphics - Rendering Objective: To shade from light to dark, shade areas of different objects in relation to sources of light. Outcome: To be able to use, tonal rendering to communicate and represent our design ideas. Starter Look at your pencil. What do you think H stands for? What do you think B stands for? What sort of pencil grade would you use for dark areas?

Year 7 Graphics - Rendering Task 1: Shade the boxes (render) going from light to dark. The change in shade should be gradual (tonal gradation).

Year 7 Graphics - Rendering Tonal Rendering: Look at this cube. What would make it more realistic and give it a 3D form? Careful consideration of how the light falls on an object can also help to describe its shape, form and add realism. The areas nearest the light source will be lighter and those furthest away or in shadow will be darker in tone. Task 2: Draw an arrow to illustrate which way the light source will be directed on the sketches in your booklet.

Year 7 Graphics - Rendering
