What two ways can we make colours lighter? How do we make colours darker? What thickness should the powder paint be when applying it to your work? What do we call a colour we add white to?

3 Learning outcomes: All will continue to paint their mask using powder paint Most will apply paint neatly and accurately Most will identify areas of light and shadow and add areas of tone to their painting Some will mix colours very accurately and show many areas of tone and gradual changes in colour. Some will complete their painting and begin adding colouring pencil to details and patterns

4 Colour mixing Red + blue = purple Blue + yellow = green
Yellow + red = orange Yellow+ red+ blue = brown

5 Review: Part 1 Answer the questions below give a maximum of 2 marks for each. Give 2 in they have done it really well, 1 if its ok,0 if they have not done it at all. Is the paint that has been added the correct thickness (creamy)? Is the painting neat and accurate? Are the colours accurate compared to the mask image? Can you see a lot of dark tones and light tones showing they have looked at light areas and shadow? Have they added colouring pencil neatly to show the details? Have they improved their work by adding more tones using colouring pencil? Maximum of 12/12

6 Review: Part 1-targets Give your partner a target from the below list. Think about where they lost marks in your opinion. Take care to add paint which is the correct thickness (creamy thickness) Take time to add paint using careful, neat brush strokes and stay inside the lines. Take more care to mix colours more accurately Spend more time adding light and dark tones to the correct areas to make painting look 3-D. Add colouring pencil to add detail to small areas Improved work by adding more tones using colouring pencil.
