Definition of Title I: Title I provides federal funding to schools to help students who are low achieving or at most risk of falling behind. Title I is allocated to schools based on the percentage of student receiving free/reduced lunch. Schools with a percentage of at least 40% are eligible for a schoolwide program.
Robichaud operates a Title I Schoolwide Program.
Schoolwide means: The school uses Title I funds to upgrade the entire educational program of the school. Title I funds are used to serve all children in order to raise academic achievement. Title I funds will be used to provide additional assistance to all students who experience difficulties in meeting the State’s performance targets.
To be a “Schoolwide” School: The school must have a free/reduced lunch count of at least 40%. The school must collect and analyze data that effects student achievement. The school must develop a comprehensive site plan and annually review the effectiveness of the plan.

Summary: Our school improvement plan focuses on improving reading, math, science and school culture.
Focus Goals All Students will become proficient in Math All Students will become proficient in English Improve school culture and reduce the number of suspensions by 25% from the 2016-2017 school year All students will become proficient in science.
Curriculum and Instructional Strategies: We follow the standards set up by the Michigan Department of Education. All curriculum is housed in atlas rubicon. Curriculum is vertically aligned across grade levels. Multiple strategies are used to address different learning styles.
Assessment: 9th grade will take the PSAT 9 11th grade will take the SAT, Work Keys and Science/Social Studies MSTEP All students will take the NWEA assessment 3 times (fall, winter, spring) Students will be assessed locally by their teachers with common unit assessments.

Parent’s Right to Know – Student Achievement Parent reports will be mailed home once received by the state. Parents can also access student reports via their student’s college board account.

How Can You Be Involved?
Parent Involvement Opportunities Monthly newsletters are emailed out in which opportunities for parents to be involved are identified. Please provide your email address so we can ensure you are receiving our monthly newsletters. The newsletters are also posted on our school website
Parent Involvement in Decision Making We have monthly school improvement meetings, that you are welcome to attend. Those dates are provided on a sheet for you.
Right to Request Meetings Upon the request of parents, the school must provide opportunities for regular meetings for parents to formulate suggestions and to participate, as appropriate, in decisions about the education of their children. The school must respond to any such suggestions as soon as practicably possible.
