SOPHOMORE REGISTRATION

During the Sophomore year You will take 4 studio courses, art history, humanities, and electives. While we will focus on FALL semester registration, we encourage you to begin thinking about your longer term plans.

FOR FALL: EVERYONE MUST REGISTER FOR 8 credits of Sophomore studio 3 credits Sophomore Art History + discussion Plus 4-8 Humanities Academic Elective Phys. Ed

Art Ed or Art History? If you are planning to study Art Education make an appointment to see Prof. Burdock If you are interested in further Art History study, you can take a major or minor in Art History. Prof. Mary McInnis will share the details next week.

How many credits can I take? CREDIT LOAD 12-credits is considered full- time. Students typically take 16-18 credits per semester. OVERLOAD CREDIT Exceptions to the 18 credit limit are 2-credit courses within the Honors Program and those course listed below are also exempt. Students must receive permission to take more than one of these per semester.  MUSC 101-109 (private lessons)  MUSC 301-209 (advanced private lessons)  MUSIC ENSEMBLES (Band, orchestra, Chamber Singers, AU Chorus)  DANC 270 - AU Dance Theatre   THEA 270 - Play Production OCST 301 – Study Abroad Prep/Review

How do I find the right Humanities courses How do I find the right Humanities courses? Go to Class Schedule not course catalog Scroll down to Attribute Type Select attribute B, D This will bring up all courses being taught for the selected semester

Select Only 100 or 200 Level Courses One 4-credit course from among Humanities course offerings listed under: Philosophy or Religion, all courses with the attribute (B) or Historical Studies, all courses with the attribute (D).
