Book OpenStax Biology Just Google OpenStax Biology You can download a free PDF If you want to have a hard copy, you can print out yourself or order one on Amazon

Grade 5 unit exams – 100 points each 1 comprehensive exam – 200 points Lowest one will be dropped 1 comprehensive exam – 200 points Worksheets – 100 points total 1 worksheet per chapter Must be printed, answers hand-written Must be turned in day of the exam for that chapter NO LATE WORK!!!!! NO EMAILING ME THE WORK!!!!!

Withdraw date Please come and talk to me before you withdraw I will not give an instructor withdraw later in the semester unless you have come to me before the withdraw date and we’ve made a plan

Since there is a drop test, NO make-ups will be given Please bring a green scantron and #2 pencil to the exams

Attendance Attendance will be graded For every 5 lectures missed, there will be 3% reduction in your grade As you enter class, you will get a name card to place in front of you This will also help me learn names You will not be able to get the name card if you are late If you are late or leave early, it will be considered nonattendance

Cheating Don’t do it!!!!! Cheating will result in an immediate F on that exam/assignment It may result in an F in the course (no withdraw allowed)

Cell phones, iPads, computers Turn them off, put them on silent, put them away!! If you would rather be on your phone playing games or checking out Facebook, I will ask you to kindly leave That will be considered nonattendance Computers Research has shown that more learning takes place when you take your notes with pencil and paper

Echo 360 I will record my lectures, they will be posted in Blackboard

You will need to put a lot of work into this class I do not give grades, I assign the grade that you earned. I hope you all get A’s. For every hour you are in lecture, you should be spending 3 hours on your own Reviewing material Reading book Making flashcards Worksheets YOU are in charge of your own grade! We are Biology! Science is important! Have fun with learning the things that make our world and bodies work! 
