What is it like? Bowles is a unique venue where young people can be inspired.  They will be challenged yet safe, and cared for whilst having the independence.

Llandudno 2017

Dates 5H Monday 19th – Wednesday 21st June 5S Wednesday 21st– Friday 23rd June Children are to arrive at school normal time on the day of departure. The coach is due to leave at 9.30am. Coach will return to school before 3.30pm on final day ready for pick-up at normal time.

Adults 5H – Mr Hughes, Mrs Batterbury, Mr Schofield 5S – Mrs Smith, Mrs Simmons, Mr Lancaster

Llandudno Hostel Children will be allocated rooms. Rooms vary in sizes from 2 persons to 8 persons Boys on one floor, girls on another All rooms single and bunk beds. Shared bathrooms

Meals A variety of breakfasts available each morning Day 1: Fish and chips lunch Evening meal at the hostel Day 2: Packed lunch Day 3:

Food All food is provided. The children do not need to bring any. All sweets will be confiscated. We ask that they bring a water bottle that can be refilled.

Bags The children must be able to carry their own bag. Hostel across 3 floors.

First Day Arrive at Llandudno Hostel Fire Safety Talk Fish and Chips Walk down seafront and Pier Evening meal 5pm Explore the local area. Return to hostel 8pm.

Second Day Wake-up 8am - Breakfast Walk to Tram station - Tram up The Great Orme Warden led tour of The Great Orme Lunch Copper Mine Tour Walk down The Orme Evening Meal 5pm Beach Return to hostel 8pm.

Third Day Breakfast Pack Open Top Bus Tour Packed lunch Return to school

Kit List Every child will need : Waterproof jacket Walking boots if possible. If not, sturdy, outdoor, COMFORTABLE shoes. (Please do not buy footwear purely for these activities.) Comfortable and suitable clothing for outdoor activities. Prepare for both sun and rain/wind. Two complete changes of clothes.

Spare socks / underwear Nightwear Wash Bag (showers are available for the children) Towel(s) Bing bag/plastic bag for putting dirty and/or wet clothes into Rucksack or similar for carrying during the day Refillable water bottle Pocket pack of tissues Suncream and sun hat

Medication Return your parent consent form/declaration by Monday 12th June. Please return the medication form you received by Monday 12th June. Give medication identified on the form to the trip leader, in the original packaging, on the morning of the trip. Children should not carry any medication except for inhalers. All instructions should have been given before the trip. Please ensure travel sickness tablets have been taken for the journey there.

Independence Our aim for this trip is to develop independence and encourage the children to take responsibility for themselves. Looking after own belongings NO mobile phones, Ipods or other electronic devices. Only contacting home through teachers in an emergency. Children are allowed to take a camera but it is their responsibility.

Money An ice cream and the fish and chip lunch is included in the cost of the trip. Spending money – max £10. Money to be kept in a named purse. Children are responsible for their own money. Opportunity to spend this on the pier

Postcard Please send a stamped addressed envelope with your child. All children will be expected to write a postcard home.
