Monterey CO. Cal Poly provides students with services to be successful. As a Division I school we have all major sports and plenty activities for student life and involvement.

Remember these are not numbers that Cal Poly establishes. The pool of applicants determine the averages.

SELECTION SELECTION IS COMPETITIVE Selection is a Comprehensive Review of multiple factors deemed important to the University FOUR CATEGORIES FOR SELECTION A-G COURSES TAKEN GRADES RECEIVED (9TH-11TH) TEST SCORES EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES/WORK EXPERIENCE Portfolio for Art & Audition for Music Applicants Selection process is a comprehensive review of multiple factors. Art and Music are the only majors with additional considerations.

SUGGESTED PREPARATION Four years of English Four years of Math (to include at least Pre-calculus) Three years of Science (biology, chemistry & physics) Two years of Language other than English & Social Sciences One year of VPA & Electives For students to be competitive in the selection process they want to exceed the minimums.

October 1-31: Early Decision (Except majors of Art & Music) FILING PERIODS October 1-31: Early Decision (Except majors of Art & Music) October 1 - November 30: Regular admissions No Summer Filing Early Decision is determined by the student. Cal Poly is their number one choice, otherwise apply regular.

DEADLINES 30TH NOVEMBER: APPLICATION 1st MAY: STUDENT INTENT TO REGISTER (NO FEE) 15TH JULY: FINAL TRANSCRIPTS Here are our deadlines. Students can make corrections to their application by Jan. 15th.

ESTIMATED COST 2011-2012 Tuition Fees $ 7,791* Books & Supplies $ 1,698 Room & Board $10,476 Personal $ 2,286 Transportation $ 1,107 Total $23,358 *Non-resident students pay fees plus $248 per unit out-of-state tuition. Note: The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, the CSU must reserve the right, even after initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by The Board of Trustees. Cost of attendance.

APPEALS New Academic Information or Extenuating Circumstances Except Fall Grades. Letter must be POSTMARKED by April 15th Transcripts with Letter No letters of Recommendation are considered Must be submitted by Student Appeal process. Students should check our web site if they are appealing the decision. Very few overturns because a comprehesive review has already taken place. So not being selected is not a reason for an appeal.

Early Start will be an on line 1 unit course through Open University. Appeal Instructions on Application Information counselors can share with their students.
