3 State Testing-MME Graduation requirement and college admissions test (SAT)
Tuesday, April 10, 2018-SAT 7:40-1:30 Total Score ( ) Evidenced Based Reading and Writing ( ), Math ( ), and Essay (2-6) Scores go on high school transcript per State of Michigan is best resource for information. Every student should have account. PSAT scores available now. This is how students send future scores. Also has scholarship and career and college exploration tools. for SAT practice. Can link to CollegeBoard account for individualized free SAT prep. Bus available at 2:40 PM.

4 State Testing Graduation Requirement
Wednesday, April 11, 2018-ACT Work KEYS 7:40-11:00 Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics, and Locating Information After testing, students will attend class. Dismissal at normal time: 2:40 PM. Students with accommodations may have a different testing schedule. Thursday, April 12, 2018-MSTEP 7:40-9:50 Online science and social studies After testing, students will attend class. Dismissal at normal time: 2:40 PM Students with accommodations may have a different testing schedule

MME Preregistration-During School. Bring SS# Can input four college codes (more for additional $) Doorway to College SAT Prep class February 26th and 27th after school. Registration online at or Create College Board and Khan Academy accounts for practice

7 Planning For Senior Year
Online registration- March 26-April 9th Counselors will meet with juniors prior to March 26th to go over course selection Senior year courses are important for college preparation and to admissions counselors.

9 Dual Enrollment Earn college AND high school credit
Eligibility: Students can qualify for dual enrollment by taking the PSAT, PLAN, EXPLORE, ACT, SAT or MME. Qualifying scores can be found in the Student Handbook. Students in grades 9 through 12 may take up to ten postsecondary courses. Students must complete the process: applications & enrollment for both MHS and the college by the last week of May.

15 Step Four: Applying for admission
Narrow your choices Know the Process & Start Early Letters of recommendation and writing prompts (if applicable) File application online in fall of senior year Fee waivers available for eligible students We recommend by October 31st Check deadlines for specific colleges Don’t forget to check admission portal for any important updates or needed information

16 Applying to college Use Parchment for all transcript requests
click Transcript Requests-Create Account- Order for Free Can also have transcript ed to personal Send as soon as application is complete. Some colleges will ask for midterm grades sent. Use Parchment In June, order final transcript to college you will be attending. It will be sent when all grades are in and student has graduated.

Official NCAA Web site that gives details of student-eligibility requirements to play NCAA sports.

18 Step Five: Develop a plan to pay for college
Financial Aid and Scholarships (senior parent night) Federal Aid is through the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Student and Parent can create an FSA ID and complete the FAFSA at . October 1st . Some schools also may require additional information like the CSI Profile. All requirements will be on website of the college. Before making a final college decision, look over Student Aid Report.
