The fire alarm audible signal (beep-beep-beep-pause) means a tornado is near. If the fire alarm sounds when I am at lunch, I should return to my homeroom and find my teacher before I exit the building. True False When the fire alarm flashes or sounds, we need to exit the building. During a fire, we should exit in a safe orderly manner. When we are outside of the building, we all report to the principal. Our primary exit path is through the window. It is important to pick up all of our stuff before we exit the building. When the fire alarm sounds, it is always a drill.

How will we know? In case of a fire emergency the alarm will sound with beeps and the light will flash. Locate the fire signal in the room now

How does this sound? The Beeping of the alarm is quite loud Students voices are off to listen for directions

What do we do? Student will quickly stand and line up in the classroom Student will leave materials behind Teacher will grab black emergency book containing class rosters Then escort students out of the building in an orderly way and according to their room’s exit route

What do we do? Students and staff will walk quickly to their exit and go to their designated spots outside. When outside student will stand in a single file line with their teacher so they may check to see that all students are with them

How does this sound? Student stand with voices off so teachers can hear from other staff further direction. Student stand on pavement with voices off in order to hear further directions giving by teachers

What if am not with my teacher? If you are not with a teacher … FOR EXAMPLE LUNCH -You will exit the back of the building and line up with those adults who were serving lunch duty in the cafeteria RESTROOM – Leave restroom and join other class to get outside and report to that teacher once outside as soon as possible so word can get to your other teacher you are safe

When do we go back in? Student will walk back into building in and orderly fashion if and when the all clear has been given to teachers from the administration.

Building map (show map) Looking at map you can see there are different routes depending upon the room you are evacuating from
