7 Lock Out Drill Announcement:
LockOUt! Secure the Perimeter Lockout is called when there is a threat or hazard outside of the school building. Whether it's due to violence or criminal activity in the immediate neighborhood, or a dangerous animal in the playground, Lockout uses the security of the physical facility to act as protection. Announcement: “Your Attention Please. We are experiencing a situation that requires us to lockdown the building immediately. Teachers keep students inside the building until further notice “

8 Lock Out Stay inside the building until further notice
If outside, return to the interior of the building and remain inside the building unless advised otherwise. Close all exterior windows, door and window blinds Interior activities may continue as usual. No one leaves classroom until “all clear” is announced

9 Lock Down Announcement:
Lockdown is called when there is a threat or hazard inside the school building. From parental custody disputes to intruders to an active shooter, Lockdown uses classroom and school security actions to protect students and staff from threat. Announcement: “Your attention, please. We are experiencing an emergency situation and need to conduct a room lockdown immediately. Teachers lock your doors and keep students inside until further notice “

10 Lock Down Return to nearest classroom or office
Ignore all bells/alarms Lock doors, turn off lights, shut blinds and windows Move away from windows and doors All persons are to sit down against an interior wall Allow no one outside of the classroom until the incident commander give the “ALL Clear” or law enforcement officer advises in person

11 Evacuate Evacuate is called when there is a need to move students from one location to another. The directives or actions may vary for fire, bomb threat, or other emergency. Your attention, please. We need to institute an evacuation o the building. Teachers are to take their students to their designated assembly area In case of fire drill, the fire alarms will signal the evacuation

12 Evacuate If police led evacuation, follow all directions given to you by police officers. The directives or actions may vary for fire, bomb threat, or other emergency. In a police led evacuation, students may be instructed to form a single file line and hold hands front and back, or students and staff may be asked to put their hands on their heads while evacuating. Other directions may be invoked during an evacuation and student and staff should be prepared to follow specific instructions given by staff or first responders. Teachers lead or have student leader lead students to designated assembly area Students will follow designated evacuation route Close doors, turn off lights Stay with class for easy account of students Stay orderly and quite and listen for further instructions

13 Shelter Shelter is called when specific protective actions are needed based on a threat or hazard. Training should include response to threats such as tornado, earthquake or hazmat. May also include Severe weather, Wildfires, Flooding Announcement: “Your attention please. We are experiencing an emergency situation and need to implement shelter-in-place procedures. Students and staff are directed to move to the designated shelter location and safe area Shelter

14 Shelter Move into designated safe areas such as inside rooms with no windows, bathrooms, utility closet, and hallway without large widows or doors. Close classroom doors and windows when leaving Kneel down and be ready to cover head to protect from debris If movement into the building would expose persons to hazardous chemical plums, should move to designated outdoor assembly area upwind or cross-wind from the spill.
