Perton Middle School visit to Paris July 2017

Chateau de Grande Romaine is situated 20 miles east of Paris. Where are we staying? Chateau de Grande Romaine is situated 20 miles east of Paris. The centre has recently been refurbished. The rooms have en-suite facilities and accommodate 4-6 students.

How are we getting there? Air conditioned executive coach. Ferry from Dover to Calais (TBC). Times of departure and return journey still to be confirmed by PGL

What are we doing? Day 1 – Arrive at the chateau, welcome tour, Evening entertainment.

What are we doing? Day 2 – AM: Market visit. PM: Organised activities at the centre. Evening entertainment.

What are we doing? Day 3 – Disneyland Paris Evening entertainment at the chateau.

What are we doing? Day 4 – AM: Eiffel Tower and boat ride on the river Seine. PM: Sacré Coeur and Montmartre

What are we doing? Day 5 – AM: Depart after breakfast. Visit to the hypermarket or Vimy Ridge en-route.

What should I bring? Please limit luggage to one case/bag and one item of hand luggage for items needed on the journey. Please also clearly label the items with the child’s name. Suitable nightwear Swimwear T-shirts Jumper/sweatshirt Trainers/shoes suitable for walking Shorts Trousers/jeans Sun hat/baseball cap Jacket Clothes for the evenings Old clothing for activities Toiletries bag and contents (including sun cream) Towels for showering and swimming Small rucksack for packed lunches on days out Plastic water bottle Pen and pencil Medical contact form (fully completed and signed) Any personal medication European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) (This is available free of charge. Apply online or pick up a form free of charge) Food and drink for the journey Pocket money ( As a guide €5-€10 per day is more that adequate for items such as soft drinks, snacks and souvenirs. Pupils may also need around £5 for on the ferry and at the English service station) Disposable camera A watch

What should I not bring? Mobile phones – recommended by PGL. We will contact you if there is any need. Photos and information about what we have done will be tweeted on the school website. We will be taking the school mobile phone should contact need to be made in an emergency. What to do next Pay the first instalment (£80) by Wednesday 1st February Complete the forms in your information pack and return to school by Wednesday 1st February (please include a passport photo with your form in the envelope provided). Forms to be completed are: - Collective passport application form - Read through the code of conduct with your child and both sign Apply for the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC card) online http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcareabroad/EHIC/Pages/about-the-ehic.aspx Read through the documentation in the information pack you receive including the insurance cover Pay remaining balance by: - 2nd payment - £80.00 by 1st March 2017 - 3rd payment - £80.00 by 3rd April 2017 - 4th and final payment - £85.00 by 2nd May 2017

Collective Passports Even if your child does not have their own passport, they can travel on a group collective passport. Therefore there is no need to apply for an individual passport. If they do have a passport, please fill in section 2 with the details and then section 4. Then sign the declaration in section 5. If they do not have a passport you need to complete section 3 and 4 and then sign the declaration in section 5. PLEASE REMEMBER TO INCLUDE A PASSPORT PHOTO WITH THE FORM.
