4 Travel Insurance An EHIC card for each child is essential. Travel insurance has been arranged through Connect Studies, the travel company responsible for the trip.

6 Travel Sickness If your child suffers from travel sickness please give him / her a supply of tablets for the outward and return journeys. There are also a few long journeys whilst in France

7 Pocket Money We would recommend about £60, as this should cover drink and other requirements. We will operate a ‘bank’ where your child can withdraw money on a daily basis. Any money for the Bank must be sealed in an envelope with your childs name on it.

8 Things to pack in suitcase Warm jumper Waterproof coat Walking shoes Casual day clothing Swimming costume (trunks!) Towel Watch Toiletries Purse / wallet Writing materials

9 Things to pack in small bag A small bag should be taken for food and all items needed on the coach journey – pens, pencil, book, iPods etc. for the long journey. A pillow!!!

10 Mobile Phones / Valuables Students bring mobile phones and other valuables entirely at their own risk.

11 Departure Arrive at School at 05:15hrs Saturday July 11th Please be quiet when you arrive Packed lunch and drinks

12 Travel Your coach will pick you up from the school for your ferry crossing from Dover to Calais.

15 Itinerary – Day 1 Travel to Normandy via Honfleur. Unpack, relax, games Evening meal (1 st meal included in tour price)

16 Itinerary – Day 2 Morning visit to Mont St. Michel Afternoon visit to Swimming Complex or mini golf Evening - make your own pizza and entertainment

18 Itinerary – Day 3 Monsieur Martin’s Goats! American War Cemetery and 360 Cinema Evening entertainment and barbeque

19 American Cemetery:

20 Arromanches 360º Cinema The cinema is situated on the cliffs above the remains of Port Winston; an 18-minute film is projected onto 9 screens in a round hall, mixing archive and present day footage and giving a moving insight into the D-Day Landings.

21 Itinerary – Day 4 Early departure for Paris via Versailles Journey up the Montparnasse Trip along the River Seine on the Bateaux Mouches Further sightseeing Arrival Hotel Comfort Inn

22 La tour Montparnasse The alternative to the Eiffel Tower.

23 Itinerary – Day 5 Pack Shuttle bus to Parc Astérix Whole day in the park 3.30pm – return journey to Calais

24 Parc Astérix to Ridgeway Arrive Ridgeway: 00.00hrs 15 th July. [midnight!] Please leave space in car park for the coach. Any significant change in arrival time will be communicated to you

25 And finally….  Photocopy of EHIC and Passport to Mrs Colledge ASAP,  Passport and EHIC handed in to Finance Office by Friday 26 th June
