Presentation transcript:

The seven sacraments The seven sacraments are signs of God's love and the main liturgical actions of the church.

The sacraments of initiation The sacraments of initiation are baptism, Eucharist, and confirmation. These three sacraments are the foundation of every Christian life.

Baptism Through baptism we are welcomed as God's children and are welcomed into the church.

Eucharist In the Eucharist, the faithful join with Christ to give Thanksgiving, honor and glory to the father through the power of the holy spirit.

Confirmation Confirmation strengthens the graces of baptism and celebrates the special gift of the Holy spirit.

Sacraments of healing The sacraments of Reconciliation and anointing of the sick are the sacraments of healing

Reconciliation Reconciliation is when you confess your sins to god and the priest and they forgive you for your sins and you can start over

Anointing of the sick The anointing of the sick means that it strengthens our faith when we are very ill, weakened by old age, or dying.

Vocations A vocation is a call given by God to share in Jesus' life or work.

Matrimony Matrimony unites a baptized man and a baptized woman In a lifelong bond of faithful love to honor each other.

Holy orders Through holy orders, a baptized man is consecrated to serve the whole church as a bishop, priest, or deacon in the name of Christ.
