Presentation transcript:

The French Revolution had a really big impact, not only on France, but also on other countries. “Spain was conditioned by the ideas and events that caused the upheaval in France, and that the great liberators of the continent” (Doc. 2). People all over the world were inspired like Bolivar and San Martin. They caused the fanning of revolutionary flames in Latin America.

The French Revolution had many impacts. After the French Rev The French Revolution had many impacts. After the French Rev. other countries started to have revolutions. In Latin America there was a struggle against Spain conditioned by events in France (Doc. 2). Inside France, they wanted to make sure they had more rights. In document 1 they talk about natural rights of life, liberty, property, security and freedom of oppression (Doc. 1). This shows what the French wanted from their revolution.

The French Revolution impacted not only France but other countries The French Revolution impacted not only France but other countries. The French Revolution spread many ideas. Also, now citizens were allowed to make decisions in the government, unlike under Louis the 16th where they had no say. The French tried to protect their rights now. “No man ought to be molested [persecuted] on account of his opinions” (Doc. 1). This ended when Napoleon came in, but the French Revolution was still the beginning of all that. Many countries started to think democracy was a good idea.“The French Revolution has often been credited with fanning the revolutionary flames that spread through Latin America…” (Doc. 2) Clearly, the French Rev. impacted history greatly.

The French Revolution had a great impact not only in France, but in other places like Latin America. The French Rev. started because of the unjust tax system of Louis the 16th, which had the 3rd Estate pay most of the taxes and the 1st and 2nd pay barely any. Also, the gov’t wasn’t keeping the social contract. People are entitled to have the right to “liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression” (Doc. 1). If the gov’t doesn’t fulfill their end of the contract people can rebel, which they did. The French Rev. also had great impacts on other countries. “The French Rev. was credited with fanning the revolutionary flames in Latin America” (Doc. 2). This revolution caused France to have a better tax system and a new government for a while. It also inspire others to follow their example.

The French Rev. impacted the people of France and inspired an Age of Revolutions around the world. The French Revolution had sparked other areas outside of France to have revolution through the spread of revolutionary ideas of the Enlightenment. Some of these Enlightenment were expressed in the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen. This document was written to express the rights that the people of France felt that they deserved. There is proof of Locke’s ideas of natural rights shown in the document, “the natural rights of man are liberty, security, property, and resistance to oppression” (Doc. 1). Areas that had been influenced by the French Revolution were Latin America. As said in Doc. 2, “The French Revolution has often been credited with fanning the flames of revolution that swept through Latin America at the turn of the 19th century” (Doc. 2) Within France, the revolution had also resulted in the rise of an educated middle class since the revolution had shown that if they are not treated fairly, but as second class citizens, then they will rebel. Even though many in the revolution had gotten their rights, not women. Olympia de Gouges said, what advantage have women received? None! (Doc. 3).

The French Rev. impacted the people of France, creating a demand for natural rights to be protected, and inspired an Age of Revolutions around the world. The French Revolution had sparked a desire in people to demand their rights. 1). Within France, the revolution had also resulted in the rise of an educated middle class since the revolution had shown that if they are not treated fairly, but as second class citizens, then they will rebel. No longer could nobles and absolute monarch’s ignore and oppress the majority of their people just to live a life of luxury like Louis 16th and Marie Antoinette did at Versailles. The people simply would not stand for such an unjust system. However, even though many in the revolution had gotten their rights, not women. Olympia de Gouges said, what advantage have women received? None! (Doc. 3). De Gouges was clearly trying to inspire women to follow in the example of the French Rev. and demand their rights as well. Other areas that had been influenced by the French Revolution were Latin America. As said in Doc. 2, “The French Revolution has often been credited with fanning the flames of revolution that swept through Latin America at the turn of the 19th century” (Doc. 2). So, even thought France ultimate reverts back into a monarch with the Congress of Vienna, the ideas of the revolution inspired many others near and far to fight for their rights.
