Providence Saint John’s Health Center City Council March 28, 2017 Phase Two Project Procedural Amendment Providence Saint John’s Health Center Good evening Councilmembers, Roxanne Tanemori, with Planning & Community Development. This evening’s item introduces for first reading – a proposed ordinance for a second Amendment to the Providence Saint John’s Health Center Development Agreement, originally approved by Council in 1998 and amended in 2011. This proposed amendment would authorize a procedural change to the approval process. Background 12/6/2016 – Council Authorized staff/applicant negotiations Providence’s request: time extension to construct Phase Two With community benefits recommendations With staff-recommended amendments 2/15/2017 – Planning Commission Recommendation in support of procedural amendment

Phase Two Project – Procedural Amendment 2 Providence Saint John’s Health Center – Phase Two Project Phase Two Project – Procedural Amendment 1. Council as City’s Decision-Maker Phase Two Project Master Plan 2. Expand Scope of Master Plan North & South Campuses A procedural amendment to provide Council approval authority over a Phase Two Project Master Plan and require that all Phase Two development be in accordance with the Master Plan; This would povide for comprehensive and integrated review of all Phase Two building sites in the Master Plan. 2 2 2

It is located on Santa Monica Blvd between 20th and 23rd Street – in the community’s mid-City neighborhood. There are a mix of commercial, healthcare, and residential uses in the vicinity.
