Material Number (DOT#) Search DPI Vehicle Fleet Management IM-5 MMO3 Use this procedure to search for a new material number in SAP. This is an alternate method to using transaction ZMB21. Material numbers uniquely identify a specific material. However, a single material may be cross-referenced to more than one manufacturer part number. The match code search functionality provides a number of options. From the SAP R/3 System Easy Access screen or from your favorites, enter or select transaction code MM03. Click or press Enter. In Material field, click on icon. On dialog box, click in the upper right corner to display a list of available search options. Basic Commands Back Cancel Help Exit Enter Save Execute If a DOT number cannot be found using any of the methods, submit a Material Number Request Form (copy can be found on the ncbussafety.org website). This form must be filled out completely, including a 9-digit VMRS code, and submitted to the BSIP helpdesk for processing. Use an asterisk (*) as a wildcard character in the search field. An asterisk before and after the known information will return any data with the characters your have designated. Make sure the match is in a material group that school transportation is authorized to use. Select a material by double-clicking on the material number.
