Center for Economic & Workforce Development Continuing Education CEUs provided for various professions Nursing, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Counselors, Physical Therapists, Pharmacists, Assisted Living & Nursing Home Administrators Community Education Hunter Safety, Boater Safety, Intro. to Computers, Kids College, etc.

Center for Economic & Workforce Development Custom Training for Business & Industry Wallace Community College partners with area businesses to meet identified training needs. We tailor programs to specifically address areas where training is needed. Supervisory training, Teambuilding, Specific Job Skills (computers, etc.) We provide adaptive and flexible programs to meet our partners’ needs.

Center for Economic & Workforce Development Short-term Training Courses range from 1 class meeting to multiple weeks in length. These courses offer the flexibility for participants to obtain necessary training in very concise and focused formats. Courses typically end with a certificate upon successful completion of training.

Center for Economic & Workforce Development Short-term Training Programs Include: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – 25 days Ophthalmic Assistant – 14 weeks Dental Assistant – 20 weeks Professional Medical Coding (PC) – 40 weeks Plumber’s Apprentice – 48 weeks (3, 16-week modules) Pre-apprentice Electrical Lineworker – 7 weeks

Center for Economic & Workforce Development WorkKeys Is a nationally recognized workforce development system consisting of 3 elements: Job Profiling, Skills Assessment & Training. WorkKeys has been adopted by the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce, the City & County school systems, and Wallace Community College.

Center for Economic & Workforce Development WorkKeys As a result of adopting WorkKeys, over 100 jobs in our area have been profiled and more than 10,000 workers and students have been assessed. Identifies skill gaps and provides remedial instruction where deficiencies are noted. Career Readiness Certificates – Reading, Math, Locating Information. Shows potential employers existing job readiness skills
