3. What does the American Red Cross do?
We provide immediate medical assistance and disaster relief for victims of events like Hurricane Katrina and 9/11 throughout our country.
We also provide food, clothing and shelter to individuals dealing with personal tragedies, such as fires, hurricanes, tornados or floods.

5. This training will provide you with the skills
necessary to be a successful Nurse
Assistant such as:
How to take vital signs
Range of motion exercises
CPR/FA/AED

The NAT Program provides training for individuals interested in a career in the medical field working in a Hospital, Nursing Home, or Home Healthcare setting.

72 hours of classroom instruction taught by Registered Nurses

7. The Alabama Department of Public Health Course Requirements
The Alabama Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training is overseen by The Alabama Department of Public Health. Training courses are required to be a minimum of 75 hours of training, with at least 16 hours of hands-on clinical instruction.
The American Red Cross Nurse Assistant Training Program follow theses requirements.

includes textbook and all classroom supplies.

After the classroom education is complete, students
will be given 24 hours of supervised hands-on
clinical experience at a local nursing home.

12. The last 2 days of class your Instructors prepare you for the State exam with pre-tests and skills review.
Upon successful course completion, all certified students are eligible
to take the State Tested Nurse Assistant (CNA) examination.

The Job Fair will help you find a job. You will have the opportunity to fill out job applications and interview with prospective employers. .
