Over 5000 students enrolled in healthcare programs 87 Apprenticeships developed; 29 Sponsors; 14 Occupations Over 200 employer partners 15 Colleges (4 Tribal) Partnering with MT DLI, Area Health Education Centers, OCHE

3 Nursing Curriculum Changes
PN Program separate from ASN Reduced by 1 semester of pre-requisite courses Offered in distance delivery ASN-BSN Completion ASN reduced by 1 semester BSN reduced by 1 semester; offered via distance Can complete BSN in 8 semesters Can work as RN during BSN Completion

4 Practical Nursing Distance Program
GOAL - Increase access to nursing education for rural MT residents Didactic content delivered online, Lab content requires some presence on college campus Great Falls College; City College; Flathead Valley Community College satellite in Libby Clinical education shared between nursing program and clinical facility

11 Sustainability Identified HealthCARE innovations
Combined with Statewide Healthcare Workforce Strategic Plan MUS Healthcare Education and Workforce Coordinating Council charged with ensuring “the state’s healthcare education and workforce strategic plan is completed, adopted and a work plan implemented” Most critical component that led to successful innovations was the communication between employers and educators
