Presentation transcript:

 The purpose of the Rep Team (All-Star) try outs:  Identify the players that will represent CBHMA for the Atom/Peewee/Bantam/Midget A (B and C if numbers allow) teams in the upcoming season.  The try outs are designed to give the evaluators a good look at each player and how they compare when the players are playing against their own skill set.

 Tryouts for all divisions will be held in October  Divisions with AAA league players in their house league systems will not use house league hours for tryouts  Atom division will use house league hours and non house league hours for tryouts  Atom house league hours will be credited back during their tournament

 All players must be in good financial standing with CBMHA before tryouts. (Insurance and first payment made in full). Exceptions given to players awaiting funding.  All players trying out must pay a $50 tryout fee before the first tryout session.

 Tryouts will consist of 2 practices and 2 games for each player.  Players are expected to attend all tryout sessions.

 Three Evaluators will be chosen by the VP with consultation from the executive.  Evaluators will attend all sessions.  Goalie coaches will evaluate the goalies.

 Evaluation forms will be held in confidence by the evaluators the entire duration of the tryout process.  Evaluation forms will be passed over to the divisional VP after the teams have been selected.

 Deadline for Rep coaching applications is October 3 rd  Applications are to be submitted to the appropriate divisional VPs  The Coach selection committee (President, VP and another member of the executive) will review all applications for Rep Coaches.  Selection will be based on coaching experience, coaching training, coaching philosophy, reference and interview.  All coaches who have applied are encouraged to do their own evaluations of the players during try outs.  The coach selection committee will not make a final decision on head coaches until evaluations are finished.

 The first atom session (practice) will be based on last name.  After this session the evaluators will divide the players into two groups. (Group one Leafs & Group two Canadians)  Players will they attend the remaining 3 sessions (2 nd practice and two games) in their assigned group.

 All players trying out will attend all sessions. All skaters will be on the ice together.

 Players will be evaluated based on their position.  Teams will be picked based on position.  Teams will consist of 15 skaters (9 forwards & 6 defense) and two goalies if numbers allow.  The higher teams rosters will be filled before lower team rosters.

 Evaluators will meet with the divisional VP and President/Vice President at the end of the final evaluation.  The evaluators will present a list of the top 13 skaters (8 forwards and 5 defense) who have secured a spot on the team.  The evaluators will also present a list of the next 4 skaters (2 forwards and 2 defense).  At this time the coach of the A team will be appointed.

 The newly appointed coach will then be presented with the names of the four skaters. (2 forwards and 2 defense).  The coach with the help of the evaluators will then pick the final two skaters (1 forward and 1 defense)  The two skaters that are cut will then occupy spot 1 and 2 on the B team list.  This process will continue to form the B team and C team (if numbers allow).

 Goalies will be evaluated during two rep tryout games and two goalie practices.  The VP will meet with the goalie evaluators after the final tryout session.  The VP will share the goalie evaluation results during the team selection meeting.

 If two players are graded evenly the second year player of the division will be chosen over the first year player.

 Teams will be posted within 48 hours after the final session.  Teams will be posted on the cbmha.ca website.  Coaches are not permitted to announce their teams.
