Course Description Prerequisite: Gr. 8 Advanced Spanish Class; final grades and test scores; must have eighth grade teacher recommendation. This is the first course in a multi course sequence designed for students who are ready to work at an accelerated pace in preparation for honor level studies in future years. During the first year, learners will be immersed in the speaking, listening and cultural significance of the Spanish language. The approach will be multi-skilled with particular emphasis on language immersion in speaking and listening. Online resources, websites, media, and technology components will be infused in all facets of teaching and learning.

Modes Interpretive: Students understand and interpret within the appropriate cultural context spoken and written communication. Interpersonal: Students engage in direct oral or written communication. Presentational: Students present, through oral and/or written communication, information, concepts, and ideas to an audience of listeners or readers with whom there is no immediate personal contact.
