Vocabulary and Grammar are taught within
the context of a thematic unit.

Family time at the Beach Professions
Volunteerism/Environment Expressing/Supporting Opinions
Requests & Recommendations Travel Preparations/Leisure Activities
Topics Relating to the Media An apartment in the City

Weekly Quizzes, Lesson Tests every 3 weeks.
One project per marking period.
Extra Video Series (13 episodes)
*Language Lab one day each week

5. Grading: Assignments: (10% of total grade)
Homework / Class/lab work/ games/ exit tickets
and partner activities
Standards Based Assessments: (90% of total grade)
Weekly quizzes, (grammar and vocab)
Interpersonal/presentational speaking assessments
Projects for most units // Reading and Writing work
Lesson tests (integrating skills)
Students are allowed retakes. They must
schedule a retake within 2 days of receiving
their test /quiz. Reflection and additional
practice are required BEFORE a retake

6. Tips for Student Success:
Practice Every day … in small chunks!
Use online resources to help at home. Many links are available on the Moodle website. There are many activities that appeal to all learning styles AND immediate feedback and answers.
Visit the Moodle website to review important grammar points that we cover in class and keep up with testing and project dates.
Attendance is important. Don’t get behind!
Come to after school Tutoring with Spanish 4 NHS students. They can help you.

Encourage your child to practice , share travel
abroad experiences you have had with your
Child. Consider a trip to a Spanish speaking
country.
