13 Grading – Preparation and Production Preparation and Production is based on:  bringing materials to class (notebook, homework)  completing out of class work (logs, homework)  Participating in class (interacting in Spanish)

14 Grading - Formative Formative grades show how students are forming their knowledge. This is an ongoing process, therefore, students are encouraged to constantly improve their knowledge. Re-do option of formative work To show improvement of knowledge, students must show:  extra effort in studying by completing a formal corrections process  re-do work within four days of receiving a graded work

15 Grading – Summative  based on past class work (quizzes, homework, projects)  give the student and opportunity to show their ability to combine all their current knowledge writing, reading, listening, and speaking of Spanish.  Integrated Performance Assessments (IPA) – authentic interaction in an informal setting at the end of each unit.  Projects – formal presentation of a specific subject.

16 How can my student get help? Encourage your student to develop a study schedule and to self-advocate if they need help  Use their notes, book, internet, LMSpanish.weebly.com  Study with people (teaching each other helps learning)  Consult with me for ideas on how to study. I am available before or after class/school
